The Sparkly Monsters Club was founded by Janice Louise Gerlach, @facepainterjan, a longtime children’s entertainer and face painter. Janice has painted for NBC’s Trolls The Experience, Macy’s Department Store, the National Park Service, National Night Out, and much more!

Her journey didn’t start with face painting, however. It started with acting! Janice holds a Masters Degree in Theatre and has spent nearly a decade writing and performing children’s shows. Several of her plays have been produced and performed in conjunction with Off-Broadway Theater, Urban Stages.

It was her love of creating stage magic for children which lead her to face painting and balloon twisting.

“I love seeing imaginations light up—whether it’s because a child is suddenly painted a unicorn, is holding a balloon sword for battling, or is being swept away in a story…I believe it’s so very important to create as much magic for them as we can, whenever we can.”
